The dc.sage Mailing Lists
dc.sage
currently maintains three Internet mailing lists for
members who are interested in systems administration in
the Washington D.C. region.
Membership in dc.sage
is required in order to subscribe to the mailing lists,
or to
access the archives
of earlier postings.
If you were once subscribed to a dc.sage mailing list and suddenly
stopped receiving mail, you will want to
check the list of dropped names.

The dc-sage-announce@dc-sage.org Mailing List
All members of
dc.sage
are expected to have at least one working E-mail address subscribed
to this mailing list. dc-sage-announce is a very low badwidth
mailing list ( 2 - 10 messages per month ) that is used exclusively by
the
dc.sage
organizers to send important E-mail to the membership. The list is 100%
moderated, and all attempts to post to it will be redirected to the
dc-sage list
unless they are truly of importance to everyone in
dc.sage
(in the opinion of the mailing list administrators, of course).
The dc-sage-announce list is archived here.
The dc-sage@dc-sage.org Mailing List
The dc-sage mailing list is an open forum for systems administrators
to discuss issues relevant to computer systems administration. Acceptible
posting meta-topics include:
- Local, National, and International events of interest to systems
administrators.
See also the dc.sage Calendar for Systems Administrators.
- CFH (Cry for Help) Postings - Got a systems administration problem,
send a description to the mailing list. Note on List Etiquette: It is
most appropriate to search the archives first to be sure that yours is not
the same question asked and answered by someone else last month. It is also
best to ask respondants to reply to you directly, and it is your responsibility
to promptly summarize the answers/discussion and acknowledge the respondants
in a SUMMARY message to the mailing list.
- Technical/Religious opinion discussions on technical topics.
- Interesting technical projects and or issues that other members may
be interested in.
Items that should be directed to
dc-sage-chat
would be postings that would have only very local, very social,
or highly specialized interest of a limited number of dc.sage members,
such as trying to get together a Paint Ball team of SA's for the weekend,
or a computer-nerd friend trying to rent out a room and is looking for
another computer-nerd.
The dc-sage list is archived here.

The dc-sage-chat@dc-sage.org Mailing List
Well ... this is the place to be chatty with your BOF's.
The dc-sage-chat list is archived here.
You must

Due to recent abuses of our mailing lists by unscrupulous recruiters
and others generating spam, all subscription requests will be manually
reviewed before approval. You will have to
join dc.sage
in order to initially subscribe to any mailing lists (it's free).
